We make money when you click our links.
Here's exactly how that works — and why it never changes what we tell you about a product.
Part of our trust & transparency policies · Last updated September 2026How the money actually moves
It's simple, and it costs you nothing extra. When you click a link on SiftPrime and go on to buy something, start a trial, or open an account, the company on the other end may pay us a small commission. You pay the exact same price either way — sometimes less, if the merchant is running one of the promotions we track.
We don't charge readers to use SiftPrime, and we never will. Commissions are how independent, research-driven reviews get funded without a paywall or a subscription — it's the same model used by most consumer publications you already trust for reviews.
- You click a link
To a merchant or tool we've reviewed on SiftPrime.
- You decide
Whether to buy, subscribe, or sign up — or not. No pressure either way.
- They may pay us
A commission, at no extra cost to you, if you go ahead.
Why a commission doesn't buy a better review
Every product we cover is scored against the same rubric, no matter which merchant pays the highest commission — or whether one pays us at all: how it performs in real use, how solid the build quality is, whether the price matches what you get, how easy it is to actually use, and how the company treats you after you've paid.
The same scorecard, every time
That rubric doesn't move based on commission size. A generous affiliate program does not add points, and a merchant that doesn't run one at all is scored on exactly the same scale. The full breakdown of criteria and weighting lives on our review methodology page, and every review links back to it.
If it's not worth it, we say so
A low score is a low score, even for merchants that pay generously. If we can't recommend something, the review says so plainly — no soft-pedaling to protect a partnership.
What we will never do
Tap any line below for exactly what that promise covers.
Accept payment for a higher score or better placement
There is no paid-placement program on SiftPrime. A product's position in any "top rated" or category list comes entirely from its score — never from a separate fee.
Publish a positive review we don't believe
No matter who's asking — a merchant, an agency, or anyone offering a bigger commission for a softer review.
Hide a product's downsides to protect a commission
Real downsides get written down, even for merchants that pay us well. A partnership doesn't buy silence.
Bury the affiliate relationship in fine print
Disclosure appears before any affiliate link, not at the bottom of the page where nobody scrolls.
Questions about a specific review?
If you're wondering whether a particular review was shaped by a partnership, ask us directly — we'll tell you the truth, including when the honest answer is "yes, that one pays us more than most." Read the full affiliate disclosure for the formal details.
